Chinook Lights

Chinook Lights is a light sculpture by San Antonio based artist Bill FitzGibbons. It is located in donwtown Seattle, WA in the corridor of a parking garage connecting employees to nearby state and federal buildings. Chinook Lights was created to bring light and energy to an otherwise dull walkway, providing a colorful, uplifting and playful experience for passersby.

Special thanks to the City of Seattle, 4Culture, and the men and women who gave us their thoughts on the public art installation. Original music composed by Chris Guerra. Filmed & edited by yours truly :)

Who Said Vaudeville Was Dead?

This past weekend was Art Outside. If you're not familiar with the event, it's a 3 day arts and music camping festival located just outside of Austin at Apache Pass in Downtown, Texas. My housemate Jess performed on one of the nights with her variety show, Who Said Vaudeville Was Dead? This is a short old-timey montage that we made of her stage character Villa that was shown during the performance, which featured acts from Minor Mishap Marching Band, Luna Tart, Ballyhoo Betty and Iconic Fire.

Katrina's Birthday Present

Making original art is my thing when it comes to birthday gifts for family and friends. There is something special about giving something to a loved one that no one else in the world has. The following is the by-product of drinking lots of Abita Strawberry beer, chopping down trees and getting crafty for my girlfriend's birthday. Happy Birthday Katrina!

Austin Bike Zoo in Juarez, Mexico

Back in August, I traveled with the Austin Bike Zoo to El Paso, Texas for the Sun City Music Festival, where we did our art-bike-thing and gave rides to festival goers. A few days before the festival, we did a mini parade with a couple of the butterly bikes across the International Border into Juarez, Mexico. Danger Schmanger... looking forward to our next International Parade!

2012 Texas 4000 for Cancer Team Videos

Another year has come and gone, marking the 9th time a group of amazing and determined students have successfully completed a 70 day bike ride from Austin, Texas to Anchorage, Alaska with Texas 4000 for Cancer. I rode in 2008 with the Sierra team and have been honored over the last few years to put together video content for the teams. This past weekend was their Tribute Dinner, which is a fundraiser for the organization and welcoming home celebration for the 2012 team. Congrats to all the riders and may you continue your role as cancer fighters for years to come! Check out the videos from this year below: 2012 Texas 4000 Team Photo @ the Alaska Border Sign This is the 10 minute feature video that was shown at the Tribute Dinner. It shares the story of the 2012 team and features footage from their summer ride. I edited this video along with the following... This video is their 70 day summer recap video. The team chose "Every Tear Is A Waterfall" by Coldplay in honor of their teammate Ruel Bobet, who passed away from stomach cancer a few months before they left in June of 2012. Lastly, in 2013 Texas 4000 will be expanding to 3 routes. The new route will be known as the Ozark Route and will travel north through the heartlands of the US. For more info about the new route, check out the following video:

Austin Bike Zoo @ Electric Daisy Carnival

This past weekend, I was fortunate enough to join the Austin Bike Zoo in Las Vegas for the 2012 Electric Daisy Carnival. It was a weekend long electronic music festival and the ABZ was there as hired artist performers, parading their pedal-powered creature bikes through the crowds of festival-goers. Check out the following photos and video to see some highlights of the ABZ in action:
